Enrolment Instructions for Line Managers

Written by Future Talent Learning | Mar 12, 2026 11:18:37 AM

Welcome to the Transformational Manager Programme.

Line managers are critical stakeholders contributing to learners’ success on the programme. The Programme Handbook outlines your role in this learning journey and contains all the information you’ll need to support your learner during the programme.

To help your direct report prepare for enrolment, there are two steps for you to take.

Step 1: Enrolment Meeting

Both you and your direct report need to attend a Group Enrolment Session, your direct report will book onto a session that the both of you are able to attend. Best practice is to block this time out once your direct report has let you know when they’ve booked it. A member of the Future Talent Team will invite you to the meeting.

The meeting is 1 and a half hours, you’ll be required to stay on the call for the whole duration, but the facilitator will let you know when you can go off mic / camera and when you’ll be needed again.

Signing the Apprenticeship compliance documents

It's essential that you attend the enrolment meeting as you will need to sign two compliance documents: the Apprenticeship Agreement and the Training Plan. (Note: Your direct report won’t be able to start learning until both documents have been signed.)

  • The Apprenticeship Agreement
The Apprenticeship Agreement outlines the apprenticeship duration and the amount of off-the-job training that your direct report will receive.

  • The Training Plan
The Training Plan builds upon the Apprenticeship Agreement and outlines the planned content and schedule of training to be delivered to ensure the key skills and behaviour requirements of the apprenticeship are taught in parallel to on-the-job training.

Group Enrolment Session (Line Manager) Agenda

    • 30 minutes: Information about the programme including structure and time required, learner and line manager commitments and a First Day of Learning activity outline.
    • 15 minutes: Reflection time and completion of the First Day of Learning activity.
    • 15 minutes: Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour discussion.
    • 15 minutes: Compliance document signing and uploading of the First Day of Learning activity to Aptem.
    • 15 minutes: Final questions and next steps.

Step 2: Create your Aptem Account

To access and sign the compliance documents in the enrolment meeting, you’ll need to have set up an account on Aptem, our Learning Management System. You will shortly receive an email from email@aptem.co.uk with details on how to set up your account. If you don’t see the email in your inbox or spam folder, please speak to your IT team about adding the email address above to the ‘allow list’.

For help with the registration/account creation process on Aptem, please refer to this short guide.

Setting up your account will only take a few minutes, and it enables you to sign the compliance documents to confirm the start of the programme and trigger the levy funding.

Setting up your account before the meeting will save you time and prevent any delays in the meeting. Around 95% of line managers set up their accounts in advance of our meeting and find the process straightforward.

Note: if you are already a line manager for other learners on the programme, you will have existing access to Aptem, so there is no need to register again.

Please return to your inbox to locate the invitation to Aptem and set up your Aptem account.

If you have any questions, please contact your direct report's enrolment coach (you will have received at least 1 email from them already).
