Changeboard becomes Future Talent Learning

By Future Talent Learning

I wanted to say a few words, given we're all together, about the journey that's brought us to this particular point. Future Talent Learning is a business that  I've been involved in, in different guises, since it was set up in 2004, as Changeboard and then Future Talent, and now Future Talent Learning.

I was consciously thinking of this evening. I know a lot of the people in the room this evening and you've known us at different stages of that journey and some of you, I don't know, and I really look forward, to getting to know you, but just thinking about it, I think journeys are really important and actually we've all been on a heck of a journey over the last few years and thinking about what we've done.

We evolved from running conferences, and events in the UK, but also all over the world and producing content. The guiding staff for us over the best part of 20 years has been what are the skills, what are the mindsets, what are the behaviours that people need for the changing world of work. We've been really inspired by that.

Actually, we've always aimed to put on a show in anything that we're doing and I think that a great strength that we've had is that we've been employer-led, so it's been the likes of yourselves that we've always worked with. We've always tried to have our ears to the ground, and we've tried to create a real diversity of perspectives feeding into what we do.

Some of the very lovely feedback that we've kind of had over the years about the style of what we do is people have said, do you know what? We love the quality of learning that we get from your stuff. We love the fact that it's, it's eclectic. It's inclusive, it's diverse. We love the fact that it's playful and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

I think the highest compliment we've had from the stuff we've done is people saying, you know, we love the quality of learning because it's learning that doesn't feel like learning. And so we kind of bottle that and we've evolved over the last three or four years to become a learning business as our primary function.

Actually, the things that we do, we work, we produce programs all over the world. Uh, the focus of which is human development, particularly soft skills. The mindsets, the behaviours. A lot of employers we've worked with have said, unofficially, we have a lot of 'accidental managers' in our business, if you can help us and help them because they've never had any formal development, the world is changing, and we want them to be equipped to navigate through that.

Our key focus, uh, and again, our kind of guiding light, if we can produce a kind of a Netflix quality and style of program or curriculum, whether it's our long-form programmes, whether it's our short sprints or indeed, whether it's our apprenticeships or we've just about to launch, in the new year, a licensed version of our curriculum.

So we're thrilled about that.
