By Future TalentEd

When is the right time to change careers? In this panel discussion, four workers at different stages of their working lives discuss their routes into work.

Video summary

Kirstie Donnelly, managing director at the City & Guilds Group, chairs a panel discussion with four individuals at different stages of their careers called ‘Jobs For Life: Staying Employable Throughout Our Lifespan’.

The panel included:

  • Jed Bates, a former serviceman in the RAF, currently taking a workplace degree in the NHS at 61
  • June Evans, who is currently undertaking an HR apprenticeship at Marstons and has changed careers at least four times
  • Millie Stonnell found her own apprenticeship at Hilton Hotels after leaving college and is now an events executive
  • Callum Smyth was pushed towards university by his college before applying for apprenticeships in professional services and joining KPMG.

Using the different viewpoints of the panel, Donnelly led a session that covered reinventing careers, the benefits of apprenticeships, and the changing face of a multi-generational workforce.
